The much-feared rebound in fresh Venezuelan crab meat prices has failed to materialize this summer. Huge shipments of fresh meat continue to flow into Miami several times a week. The fresh HPP jumbo lump price is still well under the $20 a pound mark ($18.50 this week). Lump and superlump are well under the $15 a pound mark ($12.50 & $13.95 this week). Ironically, the superclaw market has held steady all summer, primarily due to the labor-intensive way it is produced, one piece of claw at a time. Weekly consumption of all types of meat is high as customers are taking advantage of an extremely popular item with a very low plate cost. KEEP SELLING! (Full Newsletter)
