A government-mandated “conservation period” begins August 15th on Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. Production will resume in the third week of October. We will have fresh product through the third week of August and then switch to fresh domestic meat from the Gulf states and North Carolina, as well as a good shot each week from Mexico. Prices are not expected to rise dramatically.
