Bluefin: This time of year off Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the bluefins come in very close to shore, chasing their favorite food, the menhaden or “pogie.” It is quite a sight to see these 500 to 1,000 lb beasts busting the surface less than a mile off the sand. Needless to say, they are easy to catch, and many people are catching them. The market quickly becomes flooded, and then the price war begins.
