While the snow crab fishermen are still sitting on shore, the lobster fishermen are busy hauling back lobsters daily, weather permitting. This amounts to almost two million pounds on average per day being landed in Atlantic Canada. Live lobster prices have plummeted, but they still are not cheap. Chicks and quarters prices are still above $10 a pound.

Historically, live hardshell lobster prices bottom out in the first week of June. We expect this to occur earlier this year due to a softer economic environment. Newly produced lobster tails and lobster meat will be in Boston next week.

Prices are subject to change.
