Like here in the Chesapeake Bay, blue crabs in Lake Maracaibo prefer brackish water with a salinity between 10 and 20 parts per thousand (ppt). Heavy rains over the last two weeks have sent the crabs scurrying to get away from the freshwater flooding into the Lake. Catches at all the plants around the Lake have plummeted.

Bad weather combined with government pricing interference has put prices on the rise. Reach out to your knowledgeable sales rep for pricing information.
