What happens when you reduce the supply of something by 66%? Yes, you guessed it! Prices go up! It is a mystery why the Massachusetts DNR didn’t allow the commercial harvest of wild rock on Monday, July 3rd, and the following day, July 4th. But, when you take away 2/3 of the harvest, those fish tend to become scarce quickly. Such is the case this week with jumbo wild rockfish. We are still receiving some small local rock. Assuming the weather cooperates tomorrow and Wednesday, we should have an ample supply of large rockfish for this weekend.
