Floats are full of peelers in North Carolina and are getting full in Virginia. Mother Nature is compelling all her blue crabs to shed their shells this week, growing by 30%. All four sizes are available now: Whales (2.5 dozen per tray), jumbos (3 dozen per tray), Primes (4 dozen per tray), and hotels (5 dozen per tray). Prices range from $6 each for the whales down to $2 each for the hotels. There is something for everyone in soft crabs this week.
