We bounced off the bottom last week, and amazingly, it looks like we are going to stay at the same price two weeks in a row. This hasn’t happened in months.
Currently, approximately 120,000 pounds of fresh crab meat, or about 6,000 cases, are passing through Miami each week. We are well under the $20 a pound mark on jumbo lump at the moment. However, there’s no doubt that the market will see an increase in anticipation of Mother’s Day in just a couple of weeks.
Fresh Venezuelan crab meat continues to be the best value in the crab meat sector by a significant margin!
