American Red Snapper – We have the “Cadillac of Red Snapper” chilling in our cooler. Mom is worth the money for this great fish.
North Carolina Soft Crabs – This week, try a tray of primes (4dz) or hotel primes (5dz) from Wanchese, NC. They are more tender/flavorful and come at a lower price than their larger cousins, the jumbos.
Local Wild Rock – The wind finally subsided and came in from the west, so fishers were able to catch a few fish last week. Pray for favorable conditions this week, as we should know if rock will be available for Mother’s Day menus by Wednesday.
Local Black Sea Bass – Superb quality local fish. This is an excellent substitute if rockfish are unavailable.
Local Fluke – This is an excellent choice for Mother’s Day menus, and the price is right at $9.95 a pound.
Canadian Dayboat Halibut – The market is coming down under $20 a pound this week, making it an easy choice for Mother’s Day menu.
Live Lobsters – With most of Canada opening in three days, the market continues to crash. CQ (chix & quarters) are all under $13 a pound this week. CQH (Chix, Quarters, Halves) will be under $10 a pound a week after Mother’s Day.
Mahi – The supply dried up after Easter. We will have fish this week, but the market is up 25%.
Prices are subject to change.
