Jumbo Black Sea Bass- Hook & line fish out of MA are spectacular! Fillets are at $15.95 a pound.

Alaskan Wild- Caught Sockeye Salmon – This fish is still a great value at $10.95 a pound.

Mahi- Domestic, head-on mahi starting to show in the Gulf – nice fish.

Domestic Wahoo- The Gulf longline tuna boats are catching a few as by-catch. They are some beautiful fish.

Jumbo Rock- A heat wave making fish lethargic even in the ocean. The market is up a little.

Local Rock- With recreation rockfish closed, and that means no charter fishing, most charter captains have hook & line quota and are catching some really nice fish, mostly 2-4’s.

Local Carolina Shrimp- Last week, they were 31/35 count. They grow a size per week, so that means in two weeks, we should have some 21/25s. They will be 16/20 count by late August.

Fluke- Tough week in the fluke business. Very few boats targeting them means expensive fish.

Halibut- The market bounced off the bottom but is still very reasonable at $17.95 a pound fillets.

Local Crabmeat- Hard crab landings in the Bay continue to increase. Local picking houses around the Bay are reluctant to freeze or pasteurize at this point in the season, especially with an uncertain economic outlook. Fresh local lump selling for less than $20 a pound for the first time in over two years.

Frozen Local Soft Crabs in the House! Whales at $65 a dozen, Jumbos at $62 a dozen, Primes at $44 a dozen, and Hotels at $32 a dozen.
