Another great item for this week is sushi-grade Bluefin Tuna. We secured a 474 lb beauty caught off the shore of North Carolina on the F/V Gal O’ Mine with a rod & reel. This bluefin has a beautiful red color and a firm flesh that eats just as good raw as it does cooked. Some would even argue that it’s better raw. This fish is highly sought after and known to be the favored species of tuna in Japan. In fact, 80% of the Atlantic and Pacific caught Bluefins are sent directly to Japan, so it’s a real treat when we can get our hands on one of these prized fish. Prices on loin are slightly higher than our regular Yellowfin
tuna, but it’s well worth the money!
