Answering Mother Nature’s call, the jumbo rockfish have returned to the Chesapeake Bay from the ocean off of Cape Charles, Virginia. They will continue up the Bay entering the rivers where they were born. The unique scent of that particular river is “imprinted” on them at birth. They will spawn in their river, turn around, leave the Bay and head up the coast, spending the summer off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Sounds like a great life, eh? Except every day, someone is trying to catch you.
Our local Virginia fishers will be catching a boat load out of them for the next two weeks. Please support your local fishers by selling as much rock as possible between now and the 15th of April.
Prices are subject to change.
